EACB EP Breakfast Discussion "Finalising the taxonomy regulation: co-operative banks testimonies on how to design a workable framework"

On the 5th of December from 8h30 to 10h00 the EACB, in collaboration with Federcasse, will organize a breakfast meeting at the European Parliament on the topic of "Finalising the taxonomy regulation: co-operative banks testimonies on how to design a workable framework", kindly hosted by MEP S.Bonafe.

Context

The regulation on the establishment of a framework to facilitate sustainable investment, of the so-called taxonomy regulation is now is the finalization process. The final negotiations process of the triologue has been started the 24th October, trying to find an agreement between the three proposals of the co-legislators.

This new piece of legislation will represent one of the main important pillar of the Action Plan on Sustainable Growth, published in March 2018. As part of the financial system involved in this transition, also co-operative banks will be affected by the requirements of the new regulation that will represent for all of our Members challenges but also opportunities.

For those resons, Ms Simona Bonafé (S&D) and Mr Boyer (Renew Europe), shadow rapporteurs of the proposals will host the event.

Agenda 

The discussion will focus on the next steps and future impacts of the regulation, with particular emphasis on the development of the delegated acts that will set the thresholds and metrics for sustainable economic (regardless of whether the trilogue will reach an agreement before the date of the meeting).

 In order to finalize the organizazion of the breackfast, the Secretariat is inviting in those days the experts of the EACB Green and Sustainable Finance working group.
