Apropos Coop Banking
"Banking, Crises and Cooperative Banks"
17 July 2024 I 14:30 to 16:00 (CEST) I Online
Join us for a though-provoking webinar exploring the pivotal role of cooperative banks in addressing crises and promoting stability and growth.
Centred on the analysis and findings of the recent publication "Of Banks and Crises"*, the event will delve into various aspects of crises on society and economy, as well as on the role of banks, especially cooperative banks, and conclusions to be drawn in public policy and regulation.
Jacques Beyssade, General Secretary of Groupe BPCE, one of the book's co-authors, will kick off the debate with a statement on major themes covered by the book. Our panel will feature experts from different domains: Edouardo Rulli, Policy Officer at the European Commission, Małgorzata Iwanicz-Drozdowska, Professor at Warsaw School of Economics and CEO at KZBS, David Murano, Deputy CEO and CRO of Caja Ingenieros, and Jacques Beyssade. They will discuss the findings of the book, current banking challenges, the imperative for (smarter) regulatory frameworks to optimise their impact and the specific role of cooperative banks.
This event is an EACB contribution to celebrate the 2024 International Day of Cooperatives on 6 July.
* The book under discussion during the event is "Of Banks and Crises", by Cristina Peicuti and Jacques Beyssades. Find more information on the book here.
