The EACB is pleased to invite you to
COOP28 "Green Food Finance: Driving the Change Toward Sustainable Food Systems"
Wednesday, 6 December 2023
15:00 - 17:00h CET
This event is organised by the EACB against the backdrop of the United Nations Climate Change Conference (“COP28”) which will take place in Dubai from 30 November to 12 December. Food and agriculture, key sectors underpinning the global transition to a green economy, are featured in the agenda as main topics of discussions.
Cooperative banks are historically linked to the agricultural sector and are often deeply rooted in rural communities. In this sense, they play a key role in financing a fair transition. The EACB is taking this opportunity to bring together a diverse panel of cooperative bank representatives, advisors to the COP28 Presidency, and experts from the farming and agri-business sectors. The panellists will debate the transition to sustainable food systems and the necessary finance framework to enable it, highlighting the actions undertaken by farmers, producers, cooperative banks and other stakeholders in the agricultural chain. They will also address the challenges faced and explore possible solutions to steer agriculture toward greener systems.
