The European Association of Co-operative Banks (EACB), in collaboration with Tilburg University and conducted by Professor Hans Groeneveld, is proud to release the 2025 edition of its Key Statistics, highlighting the financial performance of member organisations in Europe and globally for 2024.
The table offers a comprehensive overview of the main financial metrics of cooperative banks in Europe, including their total assets and net profits, domestic market share and number bank branches. Published annually, the compilation illustrates the scale of the sector and quantifies its growing impact on EU economies and regions for yet another year.
“These statistics show how a model built on mutual support remains a modern and attractive approach to banking—responsible, adaptable and responsive to the challenges of an economic context experiencing profound transformation.”
Priscille Szeradzki, President, EACB
“The 2025 edition of Cooperative Banking Sector Key Figures reveal the strength and resilience of cooperative banks across Europe. They highlight the important role of EACB member banks in financing sustainable growth and supporting millions of households and small businesses throughout the World.”
