Thursday, 28th of November - The EACB is proud to be one of the official supporters of the events organised by the UN Environment Programme Finance Initiative (UNEP FI), UN Environment’s Land Use Finance and REDD+ Programme and Global Landscapes Forum (GLF) which are joining forces for three days of insight into advances in sustainable finance.
UNEP FI holds its 2nd Regional Roundtable for Europe in Luxembourg on 28-29 November 2019. The events, under the theme of “Breakthroughs in Sustainable Finance”, is providing insights into key developments in Europe such as the EU Action Plan on Financing Sustainable Growth as well as work of the Technical Expert Group and move onto more global initiatives such as the Principles for Responsible Banking, innovation in sustainable insurance, emerging approaches to impact-based financing and scaling up financing for landscape protection and restoration across agribusiness supply chains.
The events are co-hosted by the Luxembourg Government (Ministry of Finance and Ministry of Sustainable Development and Infrastructure) and co-organised by Luxembourg for Finance, to also address key regulatory and market challenges, the asset management industry’s role in sustainable investment, as well as how capital markets can contribute to a sustainable low-carbon economy.
Amongst the speakers are: Valdis Dombrovskis, Vice-President of the European Commission; Pierre Gramegna, Luxembourg Minister of Finance; Slavka Eley, Head of Banking Markets, Innovation and Products, European Banking Authority; but also EACB member organisations such as: Guy Hoffmann, CEO of the Banque Raiffeisen Luxembourg; Satu Kuoppamäki, CR Manager, OP Financial Group; Karen Degouve, Head of Sustainable Development, Natixis; Hans Loth, Group Executive, Rabobank International.
