The European Association of Co-operative Banks (EACB) is pleased to inform that on 12 February, the Financial Data Exchange Templates (FinDatEx) platform published an interim version of the European MiFID template (EMT V3.0) which has been named EMT V3.1.
The EMT V3.1 template aims to ensure that distributors and manufacturers are ready to comply with Regulation (EU) 2019/2088 (Sustainable Finance Disclosures Regulation) which is applicable as from 10 March 2021.
The EACB would like to clarify that the use of this interim template is temporary, and thus, it cannot be merged with the existing EMT V3.0 (which captures the standardization of MiFID II target market rules data exchange). The intention is for a new version of the EMT to be published in the near future, to cater for the upcoming changes to MiFID II delegated acts incorporating ESG considerations in the target market rules, and which will also consider the final SFDR regulatory technical standards (RTS). It is to be noted that the delay of the finalization of the MiFID II delegated acts and SFDR RTS, has created a temporary situation whereby a few national specificities have had to be included in the EMT V3.1 in the interim period until a new consolidated version can be published.
