The 2013 Annual General Meeting of BCC Federcasse will be held today in Rome. This year’s assembly also marks a milestone in the history of the Italian co-operative banking sector, since the first Italian co-op bank was founded 130 years ago, in 1883.
BCC Federcasse has a relevant role in supporting growth in the Italian economic system, reaching a domestic market quota of 10% for households loans and almost 20% for SMEs loans.
The BCC Federcasse General Meeting will provide a valuable occasion to discuss on the current state of the co-operative banking sector, addressing important issues such as the co-operative banks governance, the sector’s role in providing support to local economies and the impact of the recent regulatory and supervisory frameworks.
The BCC Federcasse General Meeting will feature introductory speeches given by Italian Prime Minister Mr. Enrico Letta and by BCC Federcasse President Mr. Alessandro Azzi. The speakers’ list of the meeting will also include EU Commission Vice-President Mr. Antonio Tajani, EBA President Mr. Andrea Enria and Mr. Peter Simon, MEP, EU Parliament Rapporteur on the DGS Directive.
