Following the success of the 1st EACB Co-operative Bank Digital Day, which took place on 1 December 2016 in Brussels, and upon kind invitation from its Cypriot member, the Co-operative Central Bank Ltd, the EACB will hold its 2nd EACB Co-operative Bank Digital Day on 29-30 June 2017 in Cyprus.
This event will be an opportunity for EACB members to present case studies from their respective banks/associations on the topics of the various round tables and to learn from each other’s experiences.
The 2nd EACB Co-operative Bank Digital Day will be structured around two parts. The first part aims at giving members various perspectives of the digitalisation topic from different angles – European and regulatory. The second part will orbit around the big topic of how co-operative banks tackle the challenges of digitalisation in its various facets. This part will consist of three round tables with the aim to deep-dive into practical experiences and reflections of EACB members in the face of different technologies and challenges. The round tables will focus on: electronic identification and electronic signatures; how co-operative banks use technology to redefine their roles; and new legislation – the PSD2 and GDPR – that on the one hand aims to drive financial services innovation and on the other might represent a challenge for co-operative banks. The event will end with a focus on the challenges stemming from automated financial advice.
