On 1st December 2016, Germany took over the presidency of the G20. To mark this event, the the World Savings and Retail Banking Institute (WSBI) is organising a conference, together with the German Savings Banks Association (DSGV), the National Association of German Cooperative Banks (BVR), and the European Association of Cooperative Banks (EACB).
This full-day conference will take place on Thursday 9th March 2017 in the DSGV building in Berlin under the heading "G20 and Locally Focused Banks".
The aim of the event is to highlight the major G20 financial issues from the perspective of locally focused credit institutions. Distinguished representatives from a number of different countries will discuss the role and importance of regional banks in ensuring sustainable economic development and the stability of the financial markets.
As keynote speaker of the conference, the Honourable Dr Wolfgang Schäuble, Minister of Finance for Germany, will talk about the economic and political challenges facing the G20.
