Outsourcing parts of the banking processes is one way to increase a cooperative bank´s efficiency. Positive efficiency effects have to be weighed against the negative effects of increasing transaction costs and new dependencies on service providers. Some cooperative banks in Germany have implemented new joint outsourcing solutions for parts of their (back office) processes.
This working paper presents the results from an explorative study asking these new service providers about their services and the success factors for the outsourcing processes of cooperative banks.
