On the 10th of October, in the framework of the International Summit of Co-operatives held this week in Québec, the EACB general manager, Hervé Guider, will moderate a workshop on financial co-operatives.
This event will be marked by the interventions of Daouda Sawadogo, CEO, Réseau des caisses populaires du Burkina (RCPB),Tracy Redies, President and CEO, Coast Capital Savings Credit Union, Canada,Kazuto Oku, General Manager and Board Member, Norinchùkin Bank, Japan, Brian Branch, President and CEO, World Council of Credit Unions (WOCCU), United States, André Coupet, Senior Consulting Partner, Paris Montréal Conseil, France and Sarah Habberfield, Partner, Oliver Wyman, France.
At the occasion of this workshop the latest study of Oliver Wyman on co-operative banks will also be presented and discussed. This study, officially unveiled during the EACB Lunch Debate event that took place on the 09th October, provides an outlook 2012 on the role and contribution of co-operative banks to the financial sector and to the wider economy by considering the strengths , the specificities and challenges ahead for this distinct business model.
