On the 3rd of May the International Raiffeisen Conference “the Raiffeisen idea- a model fit for the future” took place at the former plenary chamber of the German parliament in Bonn. At this occasion, distinguished guest speakers with among other Mr. Piet Moerland, EACB President and Rabobank Chairman, Dame Pauline Green, ICA President, Hans-Jürgen Beerfeltz, Secretary of State BMZ and Charles Gould, ICA Secretary General addressed the audience with key note speeches on the importance of co-operative banks and of the co-operative sector in general.
The afternoon session was dedicated to working groups where participants and speakers brought their experiences, best practices and discussed topics impacting co-operatives banks. In this context, H. Guider, EACB General Manager, moderated the working group addressing the following topics “Factors of success/Cooperative Difference; how does a cooperative bank distinguish itself from a usual bank? International development “.
