The European Association of Co-operative Banks (EACB), in collaboration with its academic think-tank, is pleased to announce the first EACB award for young researchers. The prize for the best paper in the field of co-operative banks was delivered in the proceedings of the 5th Convention on co-operative banks that took place in Bibliothèque Solvay on the 6th December in Brussels.
The competition was targeted to young researchers up to 35 years old (i.e. they should be born in 1977 or after). Co-authored papers were accepted if all authors are up to 35 years of age.
First Prize: Monica Lopez-Puertas Lamy with 'Commercial banks versus stakeholder banks: same business, same risks, same rules?'.
Second Prize: Angelo Leogrande with 'Co-operative banks versus financial crisis'.
Third Prize: Diana Lima with ' Forecasting and explaining bank insolvencies of portuguese co-operative banks.'
Third Prize ex aequo: Salvatore Mare with ' Predicting small bank failures using macroeconomic factors.'
