The main objective of the publication ‘European co-operative banking: actual and factual assessment’, conducted by TIAS School for Business and Society with support from the European Association of Co-operative Banks (EACB) in Brussels, is to sketch the current state of affairs in European co-operative banking .
The publication analyses facts and figures and the overall performance of fourteen European co-operative banking groups in ten European countries in the period from 2011 to 2013 on the basis of a range of selected indicators (number of members, member-to-population ratio, numbers of local banks, branches and employees, total asset, loans and deposits, domestic market share, Tier 1 ratio, ROE and cost-income ratio).
This factual publication can contribute to greater understanding and increased awareness of the co-operative banking business model. The publication was distributed during the 6th Convention.
