06.11.2018: The strength and modernity of the co-operative and mutual model are highlighted by events organized throughout France, between November 5 and 17, 2018, in Crédit Agricole branches and offices.
Between November 5 and 17, 2018, the Crédit Agricole Regional Banks celebrated their 10 million members. So many customers who give their opinion and contribute to the action of their bank in the service of development of their territories. "We want to take advantage of the achievement of this symbolic figure to value our co-operative model and our mutualist values around collective and federative events in all the Regional Banks," said Odet Triquet, President of the Touraine and Caisse Régionale de la Touraine et Poitou, and the Mutual Life Commission and Crédit Agricole's identity at the Fédération Nationale du Crédit Agricole (FNCA). "
4 new members every minute
Rather than celebrate a 10 millionth member in particular, the Regional Banks have chosen to honor all the men and women involved in the life of their bank on the occasion of Social and Solidarity Economy Month. "In a cooperative where every voice counts, it would be far too simplistic to celebrate a single member. Yet it should be able to identify precisely because every hour, about 250 customers subscribe shares, 4 per minute, smiled Odet Triquet.
On this occasion, the Crédit Agricole Regional Banks, the largest co-operative group in the world by its turnover, offer entertainment in various formats: coffee reception and exchange, contest, prevention workshops, presentations of associations, solidarity collection operations ... They are based on proven initiatives. "In 2017, 18 Regional Banks organized a day or a week of membership, says Laurence Renoult, general manager of Crédit Agricole Val de France and rapporteur of the Mutual Life Commission and Crédit Agricole identity. We were inspired to propose a catalog of animation supports where to draw those which seem most adapted to the local context. "
Embody the strength of the co-operative model
At Crédit Agricole Center-Est, directors are mobilizing alongside advisors to meet clients and members in branches and offices around a café. "By their presence, we want to make concrete our mutual model, our values and our commitments, says Cécile Rabaud, responsible for the development of mutualism at the Regional Bank. They share their experience: animation of local initiatives in partnership with associations, participation in loan committees, support for local associations, solidarity involvement in Gateway Points ... and explain what the membership consists of". By subscribing for a share, the corporate client strengthens the capital and therefore the means of action of his bank. In return, he is invited to the general meeting of his local Caisse, where he receives information. Through the representatives it elects, each member with a voice, he participates in the development of its territory. It has access in return to specific products (corporate card, savings account ...) that benefit the territory and / or preferential conditions on banking or extra-banking services (including tariff reductions) and information reserved for members.
Cécile Rabaud sees another virtue in these actions intended to highlight the membership: "These actions of proximity also create a better synergy between the members, the directors they elected and the employees of the Regional Bank. These are privileged moments to better understand the actions of each other. "
